Have You Received God's Free Gift?
We have all done wrong or sinned. "There is none righteous, no not one." (Romans 3:10) NO ONE is "good" enough to get to heaven on their own merits! Because God is HOLY, there must be punishment for wrongdoing. We have a debt we cannot pay. That's the bad news. The good news? Because God is LOVING, He offers a way to save us from this punishment of hell. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as payment for the bad things we do. Although this is a free gift, it was not cheap. Jesus Christ gave His life to pay for this gift. Then, He arose from the dead, conquering death and hell, so that we could have eternal life. God offers the gift of eternal life in heaven to everyone. But you do have a choice to accept or to reject this gift. God has made this gift of salvation so accessible that even a child can accept it. However, it is not enough just to "believe" in Jesus. Even Satan and his demons believe Jesus exists. You must place your trust in Him. Romans 10:10 - "with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Good deeds, baptism, or even church membership cannot earn this gift of eternal life! It has already been purchased! The question is: Will You Accept God's Gift? Just call out to God in prayer, admitting you are a sinner and believing that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins, and then simply invite Jesus into your heart. The Bible says: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
